SIDN Labs is our research team
SIDN Labs is SIDN's research and development team. Our aim is to improve the operational security and resilience of end-to-end internet communication through world-class research and technological development. Topics addressed by our research include DNS resilience management, the detection of DNS abuse, IoT security, on-line privacy protection and internet evolution.
Our team is made up of technical experts in the fields of large-scale DNS and internet metrics, internet protocols and systems, big data storage and analysis, IoT security systems, and mechanisms for privacy protection. We support SIDN's operational teams, develop open-source software, analyse huge volumes of data, perform experiments and write applied academic papers. We are also active contributors to internet organisations such as IETF/IRTF, RIPE and ICANN.
How to apply
Get in touch!
Reckon that SIDN Labs could be the place to do your thesis? Then get in touch, and we'll discuss possible topics.
We'll talk things over
We like to talk to students interested in coming here, so that we can get to know each other and explore the topic options.
We'll ask you to do a problem analysis
We'd like you to explain the problem you want to address and how you intend to investigate it.
We'll formalise the arrangements
That'll involve drawing up an internship agreement and assigning a member of the SIDN Labs team to supervise your project. Your supervisor is someone you can turn to during your internship whenever you need support.
